The Bodegas Vinícola Real was founded in 1989 by the hand of Don Miguel Angel Rodriguez in the town of Albelda de Iegua, a notorious village in medieval times.
It was born with the purpose of producing wines in small quantities of exclusive and unique terroir, but of very high quality.
In the area of La Rioja wine culture has great historical roots, which during the medieval period are made close to the monasteries, so the winery is located near the Monastery of San Martin de Albelda.
That is why 200 monks were born, a name given by those medieval memories and close to the monasteries.
Vinícola Real, is committed to producing a small production with the traditional viticulture model, so they get very original wines with a great personality.
The vintage is done manually and the grains are selected one by one.
The winery has created a club: "CLUB 200 MONGES", which allows its members the possibility of acquiring the wines before they leave the market in their aging period and giving a niche in the winery itself for its optimal conservation.
200 Monges Reserva is aged for 24-30 months in French and American oak barrels and remains in bottled wine cellar another 40 months before going on sale.
At sight it is cherry red with orange reflections.
In nose aromas of ripe fruit balsamic souvenirs and fruit and mineral souvenirs.
