The beginnings of Vega Sicilia, dating from the year 1864, Eloy Lecanda inherited the estate of his father in Valbuena del Duero and began the walk of the winery.

Ahead of his time, I plant new vines, cabernet sauvignon, malbec and pinot noir.

But the true people responsible for the fame of Vega Sicilia were Txomion Garramiola and Jesus Anadón, and in 1915 they appear for the first time the wines of Vega Sicilia, wines aged in oak barrels.

In 1982 the Alvarez family bought the estate, along with its vineyards and buildings, as well as the 1982 harvest.

Some three hundred thousand bottles are left in the cellar, 100,000 of which are Unique.

In order to be able to buy directly their broths have constituted to their clients a system of quotas that sometimes the demand exceeds in more than 10 times the offer.

On its 150th anniversary, a great party was celebrated with more than a thousand guests, the famous chefs Arzak and Juan Roca cooked and tasted innumerable vintages of these mythical wines.

Surely it is the red wine that has the longest aging in the world, about 10 years between wood and bottle.

Aged in 225-liter oak barrels for 6 years, after this period it remains bottled for three years before going on sale

At sight red cherry, with dense tear that dye the glass, clean and bright.

In the nose, aromas of toasted wood, due to the barrel that has contained it, countersunk touches and mineral memories.

In the mouth, powerful and pleasant, woody flavor. Tannins well integrated, long swallow and very persistent final
